Despite the modernization on industrial evolution, El Tendre has remained loyal to the spirit of traditional production. Until 1990 the mill continued using presses to grind the olives, and the olive oil was bottled by hand.
PROCESS AND SUSTAINABILITY
The production of the olive oil starts with the collection of the olive, which is stored in a big deposit before be grinded. Then the olives are send to the mill, where are crushed and remains around two hours to extract the juice. The liquid obtained is left to settle in decantation rafts, I which the olive oil is separated from the alpechín (juice obtained by pressing the olive paste). The olive oil is stored in stainless steel tanks until filtering time, removing the solid particles that have been left in suspension or sediment. In this way, the olive oil preserves all its nutritional and antioxidant properties intact.
ALMAZARA EL TENDRE HAS THE MOST MODERN AND ECOLOGICAL OLIVE OIL EXTRACTION SYSTEM
Currently our production capacity is 15.000 Kg per hour, and 1.500 bottles/ hour. This results in a production around 1 million liters every year.
